In Turkey, gynaecological operations are performed by well-trained and experienced doctors at the highest level. Most of the doctors have been trained in Western Europe or the USA and therefore meet all Western standards with regard to training and qualification requirements.
Artificial insemination has a higher success rate in Turkey than in Germany or Switzerland. This is due to the legal framework conditions, which are much stricter in Germany, for example. As a result, pregnancy and implantation rates in Turkey are considerably higher.
For women under 35 years of age, the pregnancy rate is 40 to 60 percent. For women over 40 years of age, the figure is still 25 percent. This gives women a much higher chance to become pregnant and to fullfill their very wish to have a baby.
Couples who have a genetic predisposition can use pre-implantation diagnostics in Turkey so that only children without disabilities are being carried out. This procedure meets the highest ethical standards and is proposed to all couples in order to avoid any further disappointments in their natural wish of having a baby.
Costs and limitations
A major limitation of artificial insemination in Turkey is that fertility treatment is only available to married couples. Treatment of unmarried couples is prohibited by Turkish law. Sex determination, i.e. the selection of the embryo by sex, is also inadmissible.
In contrast to Germany or other German-speaking countries, the costs for artificial insemination in Turkey are considerably lower. Treatment in Turkey is therefore a viable and cost-effective alternative if you know that the costs of artificial insemination are not borne by your health insurance company or if such an application has already been rejected by your health insurance company at home. Likewise, some additional services, such as the removal of sperm from the testicles, are also not covered by health insurance in Germany.
